“Parts of the Juan de Fuca have been slowly melting under eastern parts of the United States for Milena. “

Global warming?

That’s fine for Milena but what does it do for his other girls?

First of all you have to admit/acknowledge that it is Trump’s fault.

From there you have to a lot of fault finding (no pun intended) based upon splinter groups/conservatives/boy scouts, etc.

We will then take of the massive government sponsored repair job of pouring countless tons of organic concrete into the tear so as to prevent further damage to the environment. Whales and other sea mammals will need to be escorted around the construction zone. This will obviously cost trillions of dollars, decades in time and will only be performed by qualified union employees. (we will need to import a lot of unskilled labor. . . .well

This plate has been subducting foreons. It is well known as responsible for high grade coal in the adjacent front range and limited coal bed methane. I really struggle to see how real time monitoring of an event taking place over geologic time makes much difference.

Monitoring faults in real time could aid in predicting earthquakes but not in a timeframe for reliable and precise evacuation nor will it stop them. Monitoring is at best a curiosity with enough false positive potential to make it unbelieveable.

Study away. It is a free country.

What assholes, telling us how to pronounce things as if we cared and translating English to metric as if their readership could not understand what they said.

Parts of the Juan de Fuca have been slowly melting under eastern parts of the United States for Milena.

I walked on the beach a few minutes ago in Oregon just a few miles away from the Juan de Fuca fault. Last I looked, Oregon is on the WESTERN coast of the US.

the article uses the word “hole”

It would seem the plate has fragmented, a piece broken off.

For there to be a hole, wouldn’t the plate disappear, be gone?
