Like I said any national law has to have strong exemptions.

I had a very spirited discussion about this today with a liberal friend of mine. After arguing our points for a half hour, we came to a conclusion. These are millennials who have been ignored by girls and bullied by boys in high school. After several years of being saddled with this emotional torment, they figure that shooting up a school or store will make them popular.

The solution is right in front of their face. Get laid.

I don’t see him signing anything directly going after a type of firearm

Ehhh the bump stock could be considered a type of weapon. At least I would consider it a modifier to a weapon

The FBI received many warnings about Nikolai Cruz, and those incompetent bastards ignored the warnings.

The kid had more red flags than a Mayday parade in the former Soviet Union.

Then again, maybe the FBI wanted the Parkland shooting to happen, to further their globalist gun grabbing goals.

The right controls? You mean putting government bureaucrats in charge?

Red flag laws are wrong, wrong, wrong. Still; there should be an avenue for law enforcement, with oversight and limitations, to request a competency exam for someone like the Florida shooter who came in contact with law enforcement 34 times before he went ballistic.

Red flag laws, as they are written, is like using a 20 lb sledge on a job that requires tiny screwdrivers. If someone, like these two nut cases and many others before them, are a true danger to themselves; they need to be involuntarily admitted to a competent psychiatric facility for testing and treatment. Right now, in places that have red flag laws, anyone can accuse anyone of being a danger to themselves and others.

I think anyone who accuses someone of being mentally incompetent who is found to be perfectly normal (whatever that is); then the accuser should then be admitted for testing and treatment because they have proven themselves to be a danger to others. It would keep the false accusations to a minimum at least.

[[[What’s wrong with prohibiting gun sales to lunatics or dangerous hotheads?]]]

That’s not what a “Red Flag” law accomplishes. They are also ripe for abuse.

The problem is that we have nowhere to put the mentally ill anymore. The libtards keep telling themselves that it’s OK if the mentally ill walk the streets, sleep in cardboard boxes under the bridge, and p!ss on each other because they are otherwise “equal” to you and I and have every right to act insane.

Amen. The idea of national red flag laws is utter insanity. How would you all like the idea of teachers, k-12 and through college, reporting on their suspicions of students and the student's parents? All health care providers inquiring about gun ownership and funneling all their suspicions to a FEMA Fusion Center? Sound extreme? Well it's already been introduced in the House and Senate. Read the Senate bill for yourself. It's S.265:

They’ve been mainstreamed out into society. All outpatients and they hope they take their medications correctly.

A newly released felon can not own a gun, and if they are found possessing one it can be taken away. Some states allow a felon, after a certain amount of time and good character to have their rights returned.

If you can do that for a felon why can’t you do it for someone with a violent form of mental illness

“It turns out that none of these mass shooters showed any insanity prior to their horrible act.”

How do you know that? We have been told very little about most of them, and we know nothing about the latest two
