As I recall, someone asked Will Rogers what he thought of Calvin Coolidge.
He replied “As president, Calvin Coolidge didn’t do much of anything, but at the time, that’s what we needed to have done.”
Fortunately for him, Rogers didn’t have to comment on all the Deep Staters and outright socialists (aka Democrats) since. In any case, Coolidge was responsible for providing minimal friction to the economy that exploded past Great Britain and everyone else for good, only to have Hoover screw it up enough so FDR could come in and start the plunder and deceit of the producers.
