Such a nasty woman. I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldnt lose any voters. Covfefe. President Donald Trumps quotesoften incendiary, sometimes nonsensical, but almost invariably memorable (or meme-able)have become an indelible part of of the American landscape, driving the 24-hour news cycle and becoming embedded in our collective conscious.
Now, they have also been immortalized in needlework by hundreds of artists. Diana Weymars Tiny Pricks Project, a community-based, constantly-growing Trump textile protest immortalizing the presidents words in stitching, is now on view in New York.
The Tiny Pricks Project began as a one-off artwork, with Weymar hastily stitching I am a very stable genius, on an old piece of embroidery made by her grandmother, after Trump issued the bizarre declaration in January 2018. She then decided it would be a worthwhile exercise to continue documenting the presidents more outlandish statements on antique textiles.(snip)
I never thought I would become a resistance person, Hruska MacPherson admitted. But when Trump passed the travel ban, we had three Iranian seamstresses working for us. I walked into the office, and they were all crying. It was the first time in my privileged life that politics had really affected me personally.
That day, Lingua Franca made its first political sweater, adapting its I Miss Biggie design to read I Miss Barack.(snip)
To date, Weymar has stitched some 300 Trump quotes, with 400 more sent to her from around the world. (snip)
The goal is to have 2,020 pieces in time for the 2020 election, and to be able display the works by subject matter, grouping together quotes about issues such as abortion, North Korea, or Brett Kavanaugh.

Typical brain-dead low IQ granola bar.
No doubt she and her 17 cats would be shocked by that comment...
What kind of passion drives this level of obsession, I bet she sleeps with a hand knitted Trump doll. The yarn spun from the cat fur collecting under her furniture.
According to the article, she’s an “American artist who lives in Canada”. Maybe on of the few who actually moved to Canada after Trump’s election. Most of them didn’t but this one bellied up to the bar and paid the tab. A little make-up and a hair appointment would do wonders. Do they have that kind of stuff in Canada?
Sorry but that is some really crappy embroidery on what looks like a dime store bought doily. I’ve seen 10 year olds do better.
I think she is pretty. She is very fair and the too bright lighting does not do her justice. She just needs better lighting and maybe a little makeup. I think her politics are stupid but I don’t think that is entirely her fault in this age of deceit and lies. In any case, there is nothing wrong with her looks and resorting to unjust insults is not going to help lead her to the truth.
Poor sick woman.
She needs to take a mental health break trip to Whole Foods.
In fact, worse than a poor sick woman, your hate will only destroy yourself. Think about that.
Pity!! Such a waste of a life!!!!!
She’so embroidering. That takes needles. A little double entente, perhaps.
I would love a sweatshirt with ‘Such a nasty woman!’ embroidered or emblazoned on the front.
Ugh! Hate auto correct. She’s embroidering. Hence needles, pricks. A dual entendre, perhaps.
The Donald lives in their heads 24x7
Agreed. Children could do better work.
The Tiny Pricks Project began as a one-off artwork,
Looks like a giant prick to me!
Madame Dufarge has nothing to worry about.
