Fwiw, MOST fish in the British traditional pub-food “Fish & Chips” is actually “grayfish”, i.e., SHARK.

It is usually dogfish, Squalus acanthias.
My town has tons of them brought in and shipped overseas

THANKS for the information - I’ve NOT ever eaten dogfish to my knowledge.
As I said, given my fondness for the bigger sharks, I’ve NOT killed a large shark in close to 5 decades BUT I certainly do eat BONNETHEADS (Sphyrna tiburo), which are very NUMEROUS & tasty, all along the Texas coast.
So numerous, they are popularly known in TX as “tourist trout”.
