Let me tell you the other side of this.

Back in law school I had a buddy who was from a poor background but helped work his way through college and law school with minimal student loan debt. E was a hard worker and would do any tough or dirty job so long as it paid well. One of the jobs he had was cleaning up strip clubs - yes, including the bathrooms (you don’t want to know) after they closed for the night. As you can imagine it was disgusting but it paid fairly well as a result. So that’s how he got to know a lot of the strippers/hookers who worked in those places.

From what he told me, younger girl just wanting some cash and trying to work her way through school was a very common story when they started out. Almost invariably it went from stripping to drug use and hooking to make more money for their drug use. Then they’d drop out of school. They would gradually become mental/emotional wrecks their youth would gradually fade, they may or may not squeeze out a kid and eventually they’d be 30 something with no education, probably a drug habit, obviously damaged emotionally and mentally, quite bitter. And of course no decent guy would come anywhere near them.

That lifestyle wrecks lives.

One of my ex employees from the early days was a bouncer at a strip club and his wife was a stripper. Met a lot of strippers and you are spot on. Used to be the girls were required to buy a minimum number of drinks a night which caused even many of “ the nice girls” to become alcoholics and drug use was pretty bad, especially when meth hit the streets in a big way and some girls became serious tweakers

The biggest danger of all was that some girls always seemed to get together for after hours private, off shows with customers away from the strip club. They made big money this way but it was invariably a gateway to prostitution and pretty dangerous too and some got beat up or worse.

Employees wife got heavy into meth and private shows which caused divorce and out of control spiral. Saw her out one night by pure chance about 10 years later and she was putting her life back together . Gorgeous as ever but the stories she confessed to what she had done in private shows towards the end of her tweaker spiral was just flat disturbing.

There are worse and much more degrading things than simple prostitution it seems and plenty of guys willing to pay a girl to do them. Guess talking about it was therapy her but I really wish she hadn’t told me the things she did. Wish even more that I could unhear them but that horse has left the barn

Very sad.

Fortunately for her she had found a good husband who knew all about her past and pretty much dedicated his life to turning her around and keeping her clean and straight.

Very much in favor of capitol punishment for meth dealers after seeing how they have ruined people lives
