I wish the moderators were informed enough to challenge the candidates on some of their comments. Medicare for all is so easy to counter. The 2019 Medicare Trustees’ report states that the Medicare Trust Fund will be exhausted in 2026. Medicare has been running in the red since 2008. Why would you expand a failing system? The average Medicare recipient receives three time more in benefits than he contributes to the system. And nine out of every ten Medicare recipients have private insurance (Medigap) to cover the costs not paid by Medicare. Bernie needs to be grilled on exactly what he means by Medicare for all. Medicare as currently structured is unsustainable.

LOL - if everyone's Social Security payments had gone into the stock market (say the equivalent of an 500 Index fund) people would be retiring with millions of dollars and wads of cash left over for medical care and NOT the paltry little checks they receive now.

Your fantasy would only be true if everyone in the US put retirement money under their mattress...

Do YOU know anyone who puts money under their mattress? No? Well, me either. And our government doesn't do it either. If there's extra money it's in an interest bearing account.

There has never been an eight year period of time when the markets didn't make money. And yeah, that include the crash of ‘29.

Not only would retirees be better off - but it would have stopped the crooks in the democrat party from creating a ponzi scheme by stealing OUR money. Then forcing illegals on us to pay for their horrors.

It's not that I wish every democrat dead... or that that they suffered the way a fair universe would make them suffer... but it's close.
