Back in the late 70s I was reading a National Geographic issue completely covering rats. Rice paddy rats are commonly caught and sold for meat in parts of SE Asia. The article mentioned a company that processed rat meat and sold it in cans labeled STAR Meats (clever turn of a word). At least at the time, some was being shipped to Oriental grocers in parts of the U.S.
