Two women were arrested Friday afternoon after they were accused of using two young children to shoplift clothing and other items at Central Texas Marketplace, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.
Alvinisha L. Fields, 19, of Bellmead, and Raideja Arainne Kentrell Green, 21, of Waco, were charged with Class B misdemeanor theft and exploitation of a child, a third-degree felony.
Police responded around 6 p.m. to a report of theft at Old Navy, 2416 W. Loop 340. Both women were spotted leaving the store with two girls, ages 3 and 4.
Swanton said Fields and Green were spotted handing clothing items to the two girls, who then hid the items, police said.
Loss prevention officers stopped Fields and Kentrell and accused them of stealing more than $305 worth of clothing from the store, Swanton said. Waco police were called and investigated the thefts.
Earlier in the afternoon, the women and children were spotted stealing items from nearby Claire's, 2412 W. Loop 340. Swanton said Claire's employees stopped the women from taking items but watched as the group walked to Old Navy.(snip)
The mothers of the children were called to pick up the women when police arrested them, Swanton said. The relationship between the women and the children were unknown.
Both women were later released from McLennan County Jail after posting bonds listed at $9,000.

They do the same thing with strollers, stuffing goods inside them. I have a friend who maintains a small booth at an antiques mall - they finally had to ban strollers and add more cameras due to rampant shoplifting, but still they will steal anything not nailed down. She has to be incredibly picky with what’s in her booth - it can’t be anything small of value or it would have to be in a locked case and cost more overhead to sell.
There was a kid’s clothing store I used to shop at.
They told me a women came in crying, saying she needed a suit to bury her son in. While all the employee were helping her, her partner went about shoplifting.
Needless to say, she didn’t buy a suit.
Alvinisha and Raideja
This shoplifting method is considered an art form here in the DMV area... Have seen this countless times over the past 30 years here in MD...
Redundant.....haven’t seen the pics/mug shots yet but I KNOW the perps aren’t blue-eyed blondes
My wife had the two kids in the stroller and was with out-of-town visitors. Went up in the tall building that overlooks the city to take in the view and browsed the gift store.
They go back down the elevator, across the park to the parking lot to the car. She lifts the first kid out of the stroller, and stuffed behind her back are all sorts of trinkets! The second child (I’m guessing they were 18 months or so, twins) had a stash too!
So my wife left the kids with the relatives at the car and had to schlep all the way back up there, hoping that they wouldn’t accuse her of shoplifting!
Oh wow,
That’s a shocker.
Obammy’s people.
Kinda reminds of the “daycare Fight Club” folks.
Fields on the left.... Green on the right as you look at the image
Ah, TFTI
Funny! That was nice of her though.
