Some of the wine produced in France us very good; some is actually awful!
Italian wine is good and so are the many of the wines produced here, in the good old U.S.A.!
Lots of nations have good wine...Hungary, RSA, Portugal,to name but a few others.

I spent 2-1/2 years in Italy. Used to get the Vino Locale in 5 liter jugs fro about a $1.50 (late ‘70s). It varied from Welches grape juice to kerosene with mots of it in the middle and very drinkable...
