That resonates.
In 1948, Harry Truman began his campaign badly down in the polls. His acceptance speech at the convention in Philadelphia had been broadcast on the radio in the middle of the night. As he began speaking, he threw away his prepared speech and started extemporizing in the "Give 'em hell" style for which he would soon become famous. He condemned the Republican 80th Congress as the "do nothing Congress" and announced that he would call Congress into special session to handle certain bills his allies would introduce. Of course, these bills would have no chance of passage, which would reinforce his message. It would also ruin campaigning season for congressmen and senators in the coming election.
This was how the famous "Give 'em hell" campaign was launched. Even though his party was split three ways (Truman, Henry Wallace, Strom Thurmond), Truman managed to eke out a victory and get a Democratic Congress in the 1948 election.
Democrats dont care about Border Security. They refuse to give the votes necessary to fix the Loopholes and Asylum. Would be so easy! They want Open Borders, which means CRIME,CRIME,CRIME!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 27, 2019
