While Midler is dumb as a box of rocks, I see no reason for the author or posters to this thread to disparage her talent.
She did a couple of OK covers of old big band songs, and could probably be the solo performer at a high school choir recital, but her career has been a classic example of people getting recording contracts and movie parts because of connections, rather than anything inherent in her appearance or ability.
