Cullman, Alabama. I am not German, and I have never been to Germany, but we have a pretty vibrant Oktoberfest here, and there are a couple of restaurants that will serve you some German food. Lots of German surnames left in the area. Cullman was incorporated along the L&N railroad in 1873.
Also, we have a local brewery that brews a beer from an old German recipe that they found in a relative’s house. The recipe was written in German and they had to have it translated. It is a great beer called Richter’s Pilsner. The name of the brewery is Goat Island Brewery. They produce several other brews.
