Oregon became the first state to pass rent control legislation in February. There has been a state ban on it in Washington since 1981 that activist groups in Seattle and Olympia are now demanding be lifted. When I think of how close I came to being a landlord in King County I shudder.

what jumps out at me is that this couple has a 3 bedroom, 2 br apartment and needed more "room" for them and their young dtr.....

when I was growing up, we had ONE bathroom for all of us..2 parents and 6 kids and we even had my grandmother living with us for a couple of years.It required us having bunk beds or 2 of us girls sharing a double bed (and we had our little brother in between us for a while!)

we've become so spoiled in America....
