I'm sorry if this is sacrilege, but I think "Free Bird" is one of the stupidest songs ever written. That and "Old Time Rock and Roll" by Bob Seger. Horrible lyrics. Tone-deaf melodies. Totally overhyped crap.

"Sweet Home Alabama" is by far a better anthem for Skynard. And I've always thought "Roll Me Away" was Seger's tour de force.

My “I can’t believe anyone like that” song is “Walk This Way” Either the Aerosmith version or the Rap version that was done in the 80’s.

The ‘melody’ line is like a freaking nursery rhyme. With incredibly stupid lyrics and “Walk This Way!” shouted over and over and over again.

If you mean the lyrics were stupid, absolutely. (As with so very many rock songs, eh?)

The guitar work was lyrical in itself, however, and somehow connected with a whole generation of youthful music consumers.
