“Saw the movie, it was great.”
My husband, who worked in these kinds of programs for the government, is skeptical about how much of the movie is accurate and how much has been embellished for political correctness

Reality is boring most of the time. These were three real people who realistically would have had challenges to overcome due to racism. They made contributions to the space program.
Even documentaries need to dramatize to hold people’s interest.

Working in these kinds of programs, your husband is doubtless aware that the role of any single person in a vast enterprise like the space program is going to be relatively small in comparison to the collective effort. They could have made a movie about anyone in the space program, up to and including the astronauts, and it could truthfully be said by someone that their roles were over-emphasized and over-embellished.
These women did good work and contributed to the space program, while having an interesting story which made for an entertaining movie.

Doubtful, since blacks were still slaves at that time and had no chance to advance themselves in that fashion.
I mean, the whole modern narrative has to be changed if true.
