And look at their names -- Karen, Mary, Dorothy. Not Quasheena, Latonsha, Quiresha.

I've always stated that those latter names originated as ghetto names, and the media et. al. elevated those to "black" names around 40 years ago.

It’s always about the blacks this and that for recognition. So what, they are human beings and American. Could care less about the skin color. sheesh

I was told by a public school teacher from Savannah, GA, that the transmorgrifcation of African-American names was a result of the ABC mini-series, "Roots" (book author = Alex Haley) broadcast in JAN 1977. Think, Kunte Kinta.
