I am of divided mind on this. I certainly don't participate in Facebook, but allowing them to censor the opinions of those who do is going to eventually become a serious propaganda threat to our lives.
I have long been in favor of forcing all private mass communications companies to comply with the first amendment, or be prohibited by law from serving the public.
My position is that we cannot allow private censorship of speech on a massive scale, because nowadays most communications go through these "private" companies.
To allow it, is to defacto allow public censorship of speech.
