I know what it means, it means using His name lightly, not reverently, using God’s name to “damn” something or someone.

God’s name was so sacred to the Jewish people that they wouldn’t even write it in its totality.

If you think you’re going to convince me that God doesn’t mind someone swearing by His name, then you don’t know much about God or His Word.

You couldn't be more wrong, incorrect, and befuddled about the meaning if you tried harder to be.

There are many posts on this thread that explain what it actually means; I suggest you look for them and take it to heart!

And one of the two times he said that phrase, that is driving some of you insane, WAS A QUOTE! What do you expect him to do...start the quote and then say BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP, like some deranged madman?

Yes, many Jewish sects do NOT say nor writ God's name...which is NOT GOD, but just use consonants and leave out the vowels. OTOH...they DO say and write GOD, which is one of HIS titles.

For Christians, "CHRIST" is NOT Jesus' name; it's one of HIS titles! Please stop patting yourself on the back; it's not appealing.
