Yes,that's certainly possible.False claims of this sort certainly aren't unheard of.But breathtaking depravity in showbiz is,IMO, the norm rather than rare occurrences.

As proof I give you the outcry by showbiz stars against efforts to see to it that Roman Polanski was actually punished for having drugged..and then violated...a young girl.
