Yes, I do know the Duke of York - probably better than I know his brother - we served alongside each other for a while and he reintroduced me to the Prince of Wales (the Prince of Wales and I first met when he was sent to spend time at my school in Australia when we were both boys but we were at opposite ends of the school - I was one of the youngest boys and he was one of the oldest - and it wasn't until his younger brother reintroduced us again that a genuine friendship formed).

In terms of the obvious question - personally I'd be surprised and shocked if Prince Andrew has done anything more than have a poor choice of friends in this current scandal - he's accompanied everywhere he goes by police officers and while those men might be discreet about a mainstream sexual affair or something like that, I cannot see them doing anything other than dragging him away from anything approaching criminal activity. But I do think he's under an obligation to cooperate fully with any investigation if asked involving such serious potential crimes.
