How does 7.8 square miles result in an advisory area equal to 10% of the entire State?
I come from Grant County. Sagebrush, basically.
Stay safe!
It’s really a Forest Fire

Don’t forget the tumble weed!

Ya, the advisory map shows an area stretching from Grand Coulee Dam to North Hanford, without bothering to highlight the actual area of the fire.
Heh. Moses Lake, here.
Did you know that Sam Israel, who purportedly owned somewhere around half of downtown Seattle is said to have lived in a cabin somewhere around Soap Lake and drove a beater Datsun pickup?
When I was a kid in the 60’s, I loved going to the air shows at Larson AFB. I remember marveling at all the tails sticking up (it was all you could see) on all the B-52’s parked there. They also used to land right over our house.
As a teen I helped doctor Sam’s cattle a couple of times. Strange fellow, but always paid well. This was in the mid-60’s and $1.00/hr. was pretty good money for a country kid.
HA! And a buck an hour was pretty good!
