Transited through O'Hare a few days ago. Arrived in the international terminal, which is in Kenosha, Wisconsin. You then walk all the way to Chicago to reach baggage claim. After rechecking baggage, we had to change terminals, with a long line to take the bus to do that. Upon reaching the correct terminal, the O'Hare Rule kicked in, with our flight at the farthest gate, halfway to Dubuque.
This is 2019. O'Hare should have been nuked decades ago. Given Chicago's preeminence as America's crime capital, couldn't they just send some local talent over to steal the Hong Kong airport and sneak it back? They steal everything else, so that should be a snap.
My son slowed down “to park” at Ohare once and a cop tried to hand him a parking ticket before he even stopped. He laughed at her and just kept driving.
Generally speaking, you will not have a bad time at any airport if you plan properly. I make it a point to show up at the airport at least three hours before my flight time. That way, I can get some reading done on my Kindle while sitting at one of the bars for a couple of drinks (mellows me out for the flight). When landing, I'm in no rush either. I just take my time and don't get stressed out.
Just went through there in May - ditto. It’s a bad sign when they have to hire power hungry, screaming people just to keep the bus lines moving. Very much a third world experience.
My last time at LaGuardia I was picked up by a rogue driver before I realized what was going on - she drove like a maniac but the price wasn’t bad.
