I’m sorry to hear about this person’s death, but I do have to wonder, what person in their 30s is riding a scooter of any sort?

We have a boat in a marina in Ventura. Not far from us is the harbor town with shops, restaurants. etc. We have various ways of getting there....kayaks and a dinghy. I thought a couple of these e scooters would be a fun way to get around.....until I saw they had to be ridden on the street. Abandoned that idea real fast.

E scooters have 0 carbon foot print!
But, they do leave carbon skid marks.

Gross Vehicle Weight was a major deciding factor in my recent motor vehicle purchase.

When my kids were very young, I got a full-size van as my wife's vehicle, for that reason. Built on a pick-up truck chassis, it could take a hit and passengers were more likely to be unhurt.

Electric scooter being in collision with a [truck].
Never assume that someone will stop for you on foot or wheels you are always at risk.

I hate those bleeping things, I always make a point to get well out of the way when I see one coming. Also have to constantly look behind me when I’m walking.

I can’t think of a worse way to die than being run over by a truck - especially when you’re a healthy 35 year old - RIP

Beats walking. It’s easy to start them up with your phone app and use them for short commutes
