6-2, 6-2
Williams did her best primal screams, but it didn't matter. SHE LOST.... in straight sets.
As usual? Shes one of the poorest and most ungracious sports in the history of tennis.
PRECISELY!
Time conquers all.
This is shaping up to be a good news day!
This is the 3rd consecutive grand slam final that Serena has lost....
Williams has now lost her past three appearances in major finals and five of her last seven.

A year ago, she was the runner-up at Wimbledon to Angelique Kerber, and then the runner-up at the U.S. Open to Naomi Osaka in a final that descended into chaos when Williams was penalized a game for arguing with the chair umpire.
Smith is one of the most arrogant sumanbitchs on Sports TV, nah, TV period.
Can't stand the man.
“Serena WAS very gracious in defeat.”
Saw a clip of award ceremony and she was to the new champ.
Venus has long been done...
but I actually like her.
On the tennis boards, everyone calls her Granny Venus.
I hope Coco Guaff is not a flash in the pan and that she turns out to be likable.
This 5 minute clip shows how well Halep played.
She ran down everything and hit some fantastic angles.

Serena Williams is an incredible champion. Remarkable athlete. Best female tennis player of her era, and arguably the best of all time.
But Father Time is undefeated.
Halep showed an amazing combination of speed, endurance, and lack of unforced errors.
I watched a few of those points where Williams had her (Halep) running sideline to sideline to sideline to sideline - you’d think SURELY Halep would tire, crack, make a mistake... but she didn’t. Awesome exhibition...
Yay!
That’s one American who deserves to lose.
A few years ago, our youngest son took the opportunity to work at the Western Southern Open in Mason, Ohio (Cincy area). Serena was there, of course, and as in usual form...treated my son and other workers/volunteers there, horribly. She violated a few of the rules and regulations...thinking that she was above all that! One of the things she did was that she forgot to bring her Players Card. My son and another worker told her she was not allowed in without it, and she called them every name in the book. She kept saying things like Dont you know who I AM, etc., etc. She was ticked beyond belief...but she was fined. As I said, she really treated my son and the others horribly. On the other hand, my son and Roger Federer hung out together for awhile, and my son told my husband and I that Federer was as down to earth and as nice as could be. Anyway, perhaps you can understand why I am not one bit sorry she lost today.
59 minutes of pure unadulterated pleasure...
Arguably is the key word here and testosterone sure helps to be a remarkable athlete. Among women athletes...
Very impressive. :D
It is always tough to compare athletes from different generations.
Nice video. Her speed was impressive, very nimble, light on her feet.
See made it to the final, outperforming everyone else in the tournament except the lady who beat her. Id hardly call that career over. In fact, you get a silver trophy for the accomplishment.
Yes.. she made it to the finals. Congrats.
But she hasnt won a set in her last three grand slams.
23 grand slams..... awesome. She needs two more for the
record to pass Court.
What a contrast to our soccer team.
