Trying to get a grasp on how all this is possible, I came across this article...Now it makes even less sense to me...Is the telescope seeing images from thousands of years ago???
Haha...Now that was a funny mistake...Here’s the article I was referring to...
And what is it expanding into? If I could travel fast enough to reach the edge of the universe and keep going outracing the expansion. Where would I find myself?
A BFR is only the rocket. You need to have some sort of human-rated maneuverable craft attached to the BFR which is capable of carrying tons of cargo needed to make the changes and which cargo is easily accessible to the astronauts who will install it. Picture the Space Shuttle which once rebuilt the Hubble, now defunct. There is no such craft available presently or in design for the future.
Can’t be done now.
Oh. You’re absolutely right. Let’s not strive to do anything that can’t be done right now.
For a second there I assumed that this was just another AOC article... Once I realized that "Hubble" was not referring to Chelsea's dad, I read more carefully...
Thank you for these astronomy posts...
With all the dark stuff happening down on this planet, it is good and healthy I think to literally look up at the sky from time to time.
Cheers.
You’re welcome. Glad you like and appreciate them.
