I have a natural knack for language. i could always tell you what the right wording was by the sound of it, but when it came to declaratives, and possessives, and articles and participles and declensions and conjugations... I always got lost. Couldnt tell you a present particle from a gerund. Well, yes I could Theyre the two types of words that end with ing.

I can write good English and can tell when it’s wrong, but not why. Grammar bored the living crap out of me but I spent my childhood and teen years until I went crazy reading book after book. Taught myself how to read by 4.
From studying about how children learn (and then homeschooling and tutoring), it is clear that parents reading out loud to children is the best way for kids to start learning good English. Not junk stupid books, real books. I grew up hearing classic children’s literature.
