go look at the window and tell me we haven’t blown it.”

The sixties radicals didn’t ‘blow it.’ They won the cultural war. Academia is soaking in their philosophies, ensuring continued domination.

If he looks out the window and thinks what he sees is the ascendance of conservatism, then he’s wrong. If by ‘blow it’ he means the left’s victory in the sixties led to something he now regrets, then yeah, you blew it. But I doubt that’s what he means.

Well, leftism may have won, but a lot of what they were preaching in the 60s is totally VERBOTEN now. Picking up a couple of girls hitchhiking, getting them loaded on drink and drugs, and then passing them around free love style?

No way that flies in the #MeToo era!

Fonda means that full blown communism was not achieved.

Yet.

I think he’s just impatient.

As you point out, the seeds were sown back then and are now bearing fruit.
They have half the population believing their own exhalations are a dangerous pollutant, that men can be women and that foreigners should be allowed to take our country from us.

What we have today is not 'Tune in... Turn on... and drop out." (Timothy Leary)... that is whatever the 'flower children' were at the time.

There always was a lunatic fringe in every generation. The Angela Davis types were very few and not part of any real movement then. Antifa and the Democrat party are many. That is today's movement.

Dropping out was a personal decision, not some kind of forced socialism we are facing today. Robert Kennedy reflected what was a young movement then and would never get the Democrat nomination today.
