I think this acknowledgement of white supremacy is not an empty, cynical virtue signaling action. It is a sincere, deeply held, moral belief, which will make this guy MORE popular in Vermont. It is somewhat like a Christian acknowledging man’s sinful depravity, which marks him as a Calvinist adhering to orthodox Christianity. Acknowledging “white supremacy” is similarly the central doctrine of liberalism.

Race should not matter EITHER way...everything should be on merit. Of course then the rats would lose one of their biggest grievance issues they use to keep themselves in power.

The state has since its inception been settled by those of European descent. There was never slavery in Vermont.
