I think it’s odd that the only person Holly has been able to beat is Ronda Rousey.
If Rhonda had expanded her skill-set that would’ve been a different fight, but she rode her own hype train and paid the cost..
Ronda is well liked, but seems a One Hit Wonder. She very quickly became a parody of herself, and could not measure up.
I guess there is little market for a female version of
Mister T.
Who might Holly Holm be?
Maybe we can goad Rapinoe into the ring with Nunes.

Not a good idea. They would likely spend a great deal of time in the North-South position.
I’m a fan of Holly Holm’s. But I realized quite quickly that she had a competitive disadvantage against most her younger opponents. She invested most of career boxing, and was darn good at it. By the time she switched to MMA, her younger years were gone. She tried to catch up in terms of MMA skills, but she was competing against girls who started out learning MMA skills at a much younger age than she. You cannot just catch up on years being behind.
She’s a solid fighter. But due to her impressive physique and the fact that she defeated Ronda Rousey, she was always matched up against the top female fighters. She made it a very close fight against all of them until this last one.
When Rousey ruled the UFC landscape Holm’s kickboxing was otherworldly. Nues and to a large degree the sport itself has passed her by. The last Nunez fight she looked methodical and predictable, this one was better, until she got walloped. Oh, and Nunez can do that to any 145 and under pound woman. That kick would have stunned any male Bantamweight.
