"We ask for prayers from the community as we work with Rev. Al Sharpton, Rev. Jarrett Maupin, and the National Action Network to find answers to what appears to be another unjustified shooting of a young person of color,"

Why do they need answers since it's inordinately clear they've already declared this an, "Unjustified shooting".

“Officials recovered a “possible handgun” or “an item appearing to be a handgun” at the scene, according to an Anaheim police statement.

“It still needs to be forensically examined to determine if it was actually a handgun, if it was functional, if it was loaded,” Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said.”

How much “forensic examining” do you need to do to know whether a gun is real or not?

What is known based on reports, she ran into a marked K9 police vehicle on the freeway. In addition, reports state the decedent had some type of gun, or what appeared to be a gun.

Speculating here...The witnesses will likely know if her vehicle appeared to intentionally run into the police vehicle. Furthermore, if this were just a simple collision which appeared to be unintentional, the cop in the K9 vehicle would likely have never known the decedent had a real gun or toy gun inside her vehicle. Unless that is, if the decedent displayed the gun before or after the collision.

"Determination needs to be made if it was real, functional, loaded, etc.,"

Or, if it was a "drop gun"......

Oh, so now the police have to check to see if a gun is loaded and/or get close and personal to see if it is a real gun before they take action.
