Cruise lines go out of their way to block press coverage of ALL incidents. The press has no right to be on the ship, it is not a public area like a pier or park or city-based space.

There are a lot of crimes on cruise ships that do unreported, not to mention people who overboard never to be seen again. RIP little one.

Five years ago a man died on the dance floor. The staff swooped in, put up a cloth barrier for a couple minutes, and quickly left without missing a beat (no opun intended). It was so smooth that people on the other side of the dance floor didn even know it.

In the next port, a coroner’s vehicle met the ship. No press.

It doesn’t show up on published incident reports online.
