The whole team is not Raphinoe. You’re the one letting a couple ruin it for all. Did you see them sing the anthem? Did you watch them wrap themselves in our flag?

The TEAM was quite honorable - spoiled by one or two making it about them. Allowing a couple to taint the entire team is wrong - what does that say about you?

You're kidding, right? I have never watched soccer in my life. I wouldn't know where to find a soccer game and know even less about scoring and rules. I don't think I have ever known anyone who played soccer. In my youth we had a soccer ball from time-to-time and just played keep-away from each other, only kicking it around, nothing else.

:) well, I’ll just say you’re making the mistake of projecting your experiences as normal for everyone else - especially young people.

Here in Michigan it is huge. Major League Soccer is filling stadiums across the country. NBC plays multiple English Premier League games every weekend - because the economics supports it.

...it may still be nothing around where you live but I’d suggest you realize that is not the case elsewhere.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soccer_in_the_United_States
(I know, it’s ‘just’ wikipedia...but it states, in terms of attendance at games, soccer is the third most popular sport in the USA)

https://www.forbes.com/sites/filipbondy/2018/01/08/soccer-will-soon-be-americas-third-favorite-spectator-sport/#31c072a23c53
(NFL, MLB, NBA, numbers are all down - soccer and hockey are up)

So they’re both suggesting that it is far more popular than in decades past and will, most likely, pass baseball soon.
