The U.S. Womens National Team will compete for the biggest prize in womens soccer when it takes on the Netherlands in the championship game of the 2019 FIFA Womens World Cup on Sunday, July 7 at Stade de Lyon in the French capital of womens soccer. This will be the fifth appearance in a FIFA Womens World Cup Final for the USA, which is the first and only nation to win it on three occasions: 1991, 1999 and 2015.
It will also mark a record third straight finals appearance for the U.S. after the team defeated Japan in an epic finals rematch in Canada 2015, four years after falling short in a shootout against Japan at the 2011 edition.
The USA earned its way into the 2019 final by blazing through its group in record fashion beating Thailand (13-0), Chile (3-0) and semifinalists Sweden (2-0) before combining tremendous skill, savvy and will to meet increasingly tough challenges from rising power Spain (2-1) in the Round of 16, World Cup host France (2-1) in the Quarterfinal and No. 3 ranked England (2-1) in an epic Semifinal showdown.

Come on. What else have you lied about?
For your sake I hope you are a deranged drunk.
At least that would leave room for hope.
I hope you stop lying your @ss off.
Football has taken root here - the mens pro league is profitable and someday the US men will win a World Cup title.
Tonight they can win a back to back.regional title. A Gold Cup would be the cherry on top of the sundae tonight!
GO USMNT!
WIN! WIN! WIN!
Soccer.. Ugh! .. I’d rather watch paint dry that was already dried!
Maybe if I was an insomniac, no not even then!
“Real” injuries? Torn ACL’s and concussions are epidemic in women’s soccer.
Hope US men match their female counterparts tonight!
Cheers to you both!
Congrats to the anti-American trash!
Rapinoe has scored three goals in the tournament. Two of the three were on penalties drawn by Morgan. Morgan has been marked by every defense the U.S. has faced. I've lost track of how many times she's been hammered. Drawing fouls is one of those unsung skills that wins games.
"The flag was presented to us by four WWII veterans from the cemetery in Normandy in France back in January. We wanted something special to carry with us on this journey and we were fortunate to meet these four incredible veterans," Dell says. "And we walked through the cemetery with them as they were telling us their stories. the flag came down at 4 p.m. and the veterans presented it to the team. So, it's very dear to our heart. and I think it's a really cool culmination is starting in France, flying over American piece of land in France, us traveling with it on our journey and leading us to this tournament and then to a degree the flag coming home to carry us through this World Cup. It's very near to our hearts and means a lot to us."
Credit the Netherlands goalkeeper for keeping them in the game. I was surprised at how they collapsed once they went two down. It was clear they had no offensive answers.
Definitely.
Credit also to Naeher who came out far to shutdown a few chances Netherlands would of had.
