Huxley Predicted the Future of Education
A wonderful illustration of the dangers of moral education can be found in Aldous Huxleys brilliant novel ‘Brave New World.’

If you are not staring at your phone, tv, or computer.. and you are a dreamer, or a thinking man like Huxley.. they will all point and say ‘look, look, he is not one of us’ then they will gawk at you like the savage who had real emotions in the brave new world.
One day soon.. we are getting close.
A good friend has deemed our public schools as failure factories, churning out students who are barely literate, cannot do simple math and are ignorant of history, geography and especially science. We now see young people who now cannot read or write cursive or even tell time on an analogue clock.
While I’ve never read Huxley’s novel, I have to disagree with the premise of the linked article. What is occurring in today’s schools (and throughout the broader culture) is not a moral education at all, but an immoral one.
As C.S. Lewis pointed out in the Abolition of Man and Mere Christianity, There is only one legitimate set of moral values. The attempt to impose any value system which does not conform to human reason or experience is thus indoctrination; it is forcing others to agree to the concept that 2+2=5. This is not a moral education at all, but tyranny.
A truly moral education, one in conformity with true teleologically sound moral principals - not in opposition to them - is actually a good thing.
