While fasting sugar can be a sign of something ungood (sugars higher than 90ish cause your pancreas to work much harder), what’s the biggie (that they never test for) is fasting insulin. That’s the biggie. Insulin upregulates most bad things (bad cholesterol for one) and is implicated in high blood pressure.
Lower your insulin (overall, not just fasting) by avoiding things your body has to have insulin to properly metabolize and you’ll be good.
