The Toronto District School Boards panicked handling of a fight between two Grade 7 students has left their school, so good its known internationally as the public equivalent of a posh private school, near ruin.
At last count, eight school staff senior administrators and teachers at Glenview Senior Public School have been put on home assignment or administrative leave, interchangeable terms the school board uses for temporary paid suspensions.
An additional six staff are on personal or stress leave.
TDSB spokesman Ryan Bird confirmed the numbers this week.
The suspensions came about either directly as a result of the fight itself or indirectly because, in the wake of the suspensions of the principal and vice-principal, the school was essentially left rudderless for the final two months of the academic year.
With a rotating cast of principals and other administrators temporarily at the helm, the favoured option for resolving conflicts between students and those between parents and staff quickly became sentence first, verdict afterwards in the infamous language of Alice in Wonderland.
But what happened at this midtown Toronto public school is not a fairy tale; its a cautionary story of a school board that has collapsed under the weight of its own political correctness.
To recap the fight: On March 27, a 12-year-old boy was allegedly chased around a classroom by a 12-year-old girl hed been making faces at as she gave a presentation. At some point, he unsuccessfully threw a chair to block her. She allegedly swung at him but missed; he swung back and connected, leaving her with a bloodshot swollen eye and a nosebleed.
The boy was subsequently suspended for five days.

In my neck of the woods we call that a vacation.
Folks should be sure to read the entire article.
What a cluster.
Elite school.
SNORT.
Where was the teacher during this “fight?” This fight sounds like a typical day in my house when I was growing up.
” the confrontation was otherwise par for the course at a busy middle school filled with 800 hormonal adolescents in grades 7 and 8.”
Not when I went to Jr. High back around 1991-1993. And my school was no den of saints.
I credit the abundance of male teachers. Old school dudes that could put you in your place just by you knowing that they are even looking in your general direction.
WTF is “stress leave”?..Where do I apply for that?
My favorite quote from the comment section:
“How many NUffINS can a dindo do if a DINDO dindo NUFFIN?”
(sic)
Not in the private sector.
Take it to the school yard and settle it there without teachers or parents present. That would be a good lesson in life.
“As Mariam Racko, a longtime former guidance counsellor at Glenview says with a wry grin, in the time it takes to walk the length of the hall, on any given day, students may complain about being pushed, ignored, looked at the wrong way, harassed or teased.”
Sounds like they ‘diversified’ their school a bit.
Now you knew the story was so Tricky for Toronto until you read the article of this liberal store:
What made the encounter especially tricky for a school board that prides itself on its correct, equity-driven practices was that the boy is white and the girl is black.
Like the Ice Cream licker in Minnesota.
The unknown momma is labeled as “T.Q.” That has to be short for “Ta’Quisha.”
Odd. The very long and detailed article makes no mention of the 14 who were let go or why.
Twisted, this sentence is.
From the excerpt, I’m guessing that the 14 don’t include the principal or vice-principal, but the excerpt isn’t long enough to figure it out for sure by my read.
The article makes it clear that this had become a black political activist cause celebre.
That means that white people who are involved in any capacity were in imminent physical and financial (lawsuit) danger—that is why they took “stress leave”.
Their “tolerance and diversity” Pandora’s box was opened and the monsters came out looking for fresh meat.
She allegedly swung at him but missed; he swung back and connected,
Back in the day he’d have made his faces, she’d have responded vocally or at most taken a step toward him, perhaps raising an open hand. He’d have faded away laughing...Today a 12 yr old girl steeped in “You Go Girl” and justifiable violence against any “offending” male makes a vendetta out of it and actually tries to punch him out. Worked out real good.
The worst enemy that the Negro have is this white man that runs around here drooling at the mouth professing to love Negros and calling himself a liberal, and it is following these white liberals that has perpetuated problems that Negros have. If the Negro wasnt taken, tricked or deceived by the white liberal, then Negros would get together and solve our own problems. I only cite these things to show you that in America, the history of the white liberal has been nothing but a series of trickery designed to make Negros think that the white liberal was going to solve our problems. Our problems will never be solved by the white man.
Malcolm X
” boy is white and the girl is black.”
That explains everything.
