It does say that he was shooting trying to scare her. I think that if she’s not scared after the first two, the last 37 are a complete waste in that department.

The article I read didn't mention that, just showed some bullet holes, blood, etc. - I just assumed he was a cop based on that much shooting and not hitting anything, including his family members.
Sounds like he didn't scare her, but probably gave himself, and his family, a case of tinnitus, depending on what he was shooting.
