Interesting story. I’m a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. Jeremy Brett IMO is the best.

Brett and Hardwicke made a great Holmes and Watson.
My Daughter sent me a Sherlock Holmes collection which included a short video of Conan Doyle sitting on a bench with his dog running around.
I was struck by how close Nigel Bruce resembled him in both mannerisms and voice.
I think Rathbone and Bruce were even better than Brett and Hardwicke but were unfortunately in all those low budget “Quota Quickies” so all in all the Brett series was better.
Mr. Mercat and I just binge watched Jeremy Brett’s Sherlock Holme’s series. Loved it.
