Different kinds of Cricket.

For example, currently the World Cup of Cricket is going on in England, those are 50 overs for each team (An Over is basically six pitches), and those usually last about 8-10 hours.

Then there is T20, which is 20 Overs, which lasts about the same length of an average baseball game.

And then there are the Test Matches, which last up to 5 days. Unlike the other forms of Cricket, each team bats twice. A side bats until all of the batters are out, and then the other team gets their chance to bat.

The interesting thing about Test Matches is that you only win if you retire the other team. Conceivably one team could bat the whole five days, as long as they haven’t used up all their Wickets (Outs), so the manager has to make a decision as to when he thinks they’ve scored enough runs, to allow ample time to get the other side out.

I got into Cricket when I visited Australia last year.

Yes you are right. I hope you had a good time down under. I was born there but had whatever accent I had as a child washed away growing up here in the great white north. I know some Aussie words and phrases and ahem culture but not everything.
