Wow, it’s hard to imagine how anyone could be in much better shape than a Major League Baseball pro. Except maybe a Navy Seal.

I'm forgetting the baseball autobiography I read, (probably Ball Four) but the author made fun of Mickey Lolich, because he had a ginormous beer belly.

Not common at the time, as the author made note of it.

But Lolich could really throw.

In MLB, as long as you can hit it a country mile, or strike out batters, you can be a big fatass, and nobody cares.

LOL when I watched games in the ‘80s I noted LOTS of Chicago White Sox seemed to be a bit corpulent.

Ask my husband about my comment, honest to God I’ve told him that long before you showed these pix!
