Reminds of the death of Darryl Kile, a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. Kile was found dead in his hotel room during a series with the Cubs in Chicago.Kile pitched here for the Astros for several years. Hearing of his death was quite a shock. Maybe this Angels pitcher had a similar issue.

The original drug overdose allegation -- that cocaine was spilled around the hotel room, along with paraphernalia -- was originally published in
this article. But as of this morning they've removed all references to cocaine and now refer only to Skaggs having had several subscriptions for opioids issued by several physicians. I'm sure there were many complaints about the cocaine allegation. Maybe one of the cops on the scene spoke out of turn . . . who knows.

Understandably Angels fans are touchy on the subject of cocaine overdose. Perhaps the name Tommy Hanson rings a bell.
