Mayall/Clapton played some very nice blues.

In Clapton’s solo career, that blues soul would come out every now & then.

I did like Clapton's pre 'solo' stuff the best: Blues breakers, Yardbyrds, Cream, Blind Faith.

Four bands in five years? Maybe he could not get along with anyone?
