I live alone, but wasn’t lonely until two Fridays ago when my best friend ( my wire fox terrier) died on me. I miss him terribly, he was my shadow, and now he’s gone.
I am sorry about your fox terrier pal passing on.
Each pet I’ve owned has it’s own personality. I still miss many of them. Maybe, when you think the time is right, you can offer a loving home to another dog. It’s truly amazing at how ‘loving’ some dogs and cats can seem to human beings.
It’s like a partnership that was meant to be.
Who knows what they really think of us?
Sorry about your pup. Grieve, but remember there are millions of doggies out there who will love you like life itself.
Terribly painful when such a good little friend passes. It may seem too early, but remember that there is a sad little dog out there who needs you even more than you need him. Try not to keep him waiting too long. :) Best wishes.
Being alone myself and having suffered pet loss, I understand what you are going through. To non pet lovers this is an actual grieving process. Be strong this to shall pass.

Above is Jimmy Stewart reading a poem (a pretty lousy poem for the most part) about his dog.
But it is touching.
I never got the big deal about somebody losing a dog or cat. Until our first cat died. Just the other day I realized that our dog isn’t going to last forever. :(
