No we didnt. That was actually a big mistake. The Soviets were our enemy before, during and after WWII. We didnt need the USSR. They needed us.
The USSR actually criticized Britain and the US for their treatment of Nazi Germany, before the Nazis invaded the Soviet Union.
I appreciate and applaud that narrative. Nothing gained with FDR referring to Stalin as 'Uncle Joe.' But clearly the circumstances with the Middle East are a bit more complex...Can't exactly parallel to other examples in history.
