Explanation of the graphic:
On the left side, men would be willing to go with women at their level of desirability, or at most two levels lower.
On the right side, women desire top-level men. Average to low level women want high-level men, and would rather be single than “settle” for men from their own level.
We used to have social structures which provided guidance on how to find a long-term or permanent mate. Many of the young are left without that guidance and are going from the stereotyped gamer-in-the-basement to suddenly having to make up their own processes on the fly. Some of these will be very successful, but most will not.
