This week I have purchased several books on Kindle. Emails report they have been delivered but they have not shown up.
Anyone else having problems with Kindle?
My older model Kindle sometimes downloads directly to an archive.
Bought a book over the weekend. Showed up just fine on all our Kindles. My wife loves the Kindle. It seems like she buys one every time something new comes out. We must have eight or nine of them. My latest one is our seventh. When I buy something, I tell Amazon to send it to our 7th Kindle, if I remember it’s the 7th (usually I forget), and bing!, it shows up on all of them. Don’t know how she did that, but I never have trouble accessing the books I buy, no matter which Kindle I happen to pick up.
try re-booting it fixed my issues
Go you your Manage your Kindle section on the Amazon site and find the items you just purchased (likely right up at the top of the list of purchases). There will be a button to check to make sure each item was sent to the correct Kindle device. Sometime this setting gets reset to some other Kindle device Amazon thinks you have. Just reset this to the Kindle device you want them sent to and resend the items.
I have a yuge problem with kindle. I use the app on apple devices and its perfect. But my mom with Alzheimers is given her kindle at night so she can read whenever she wants if she wakes. Shes very happy with doing that. Its right in her hospital bed with her. She knows how to turn the pages.
Problem is: she cant learn, and touching the screen often makes the settings come up and her hand accidentally lowers or raises the font to ridiculous (small or large) sizes.
I asked kindle / amazon if there was a way to lock the settings so that you could freeze the font etc for people with special needs. lock it in to your desired size. THERE IS NO WAY TO FREEZE THE SETTINGS so my mom wont mess them up.
When you purchase it, make sure the default delivery device is to your Kindle.
Bfl...I have a book that never loaded and need to resolve...thx to all
Call them. They have really good customer service and should be able to fix it easily. And they will. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them.
Add my vote to that. I had a couple of issues with my older Kindle and they put them right in minutes. The new one is one of the best purchases I ever made.
kindle cloud reader.
search for it while logged into the Amazon account you ordered on.
I bought some books while logged into my wife’s account and thats where they went.
I just read them there now.
I dunno why, it does not matter.
You could return your books and re-order and watch more closely where they go.
I think some may be cloud only.
Everything is a big pile of crap to try to organize these days.
Works fine for me as of a day or so ago.
On my kindle
Go to “your library “
Then you have a choice; All/ Downloaded
Go to All and see if your book is there.
The only problem I’ve had with my Kindle Fire HD 8, is that the location setting continually turns off by itself. From time to time, I’ll try to check the weather on it, and it will tell me the location setting is off, and then I’ll have to turn it back on. I’ve had it almost two years, and it’s done it from the beginning.
Because Kindle knows better than you what you want!
I have a Kindle Fire and don’t download books. I only use it to surf the web. Sometimes I download photos. To view the photos I click on “Downloads” from the menu that you swipe. I tried yesterday to download a photo and when I checked to see the photo, all I saw was a black screen. I checked some of my old downloads with the same result—all black screens. It also won’t let me X out of the screen. I thought holy crap, how did that happen?
Fortunately I went to my home screen and clicked on “Documents” and found all of my downloads there. Were they there the whole time, did they get moved there through an update? I have no clue. Clicking on Downloads is now useless.
Hearing you’re experiencing problems too this week makes me wonder.
“try re-booting it fixed my issues”
That’s what Amazon customer service advised when a Kindle book wouldn’t download and it solved the problem.
Sometimes when I buy a book if I didn’t look too close I missed the book because the book may be published but with a later release date.
