Same here...played in some of the lower buy in WSOP tourney games. Some deep stack $800 and $1500 games. I’ve found that I can sit at tables with the pro’s and not be intimidated. You just need to get the cards to play. Just played a 6100 entry tourney at Ceasars early June and my buddy cashed at 491.
Funny quick story he was in line to get his cash and Daniel Negraneu was behind him and he was doing a live blog video about how he got busted out and ranting about how slow they ran the tournament....after he was done my buddy asked him if he would do a video on his phone for our home poker group. He was very gracious and funny. Good guy...
Closest I ever got was 131 with the Money at 100.
I thought I would have a shot until they consolidated Tables. When I sat down at the new Table I realized I was the Short Stack with a Target on my back. Oh well.

Just last night I was only four numbers short of Winning Powerball. Oh well.

What amazes me is that Daniel Negraneu can figure out exactly what his opponent has as his hole cards on a regularly basis.
