An energetic Mick Jagger skipped, spun, sprinted and pranced Friday night as the Rolling Stones launched their North American tour at Chicago's Soldier Field. The 75-year-old showed no sign of ill health three months after the tour was postponed because a doctor said he required medical treatment.
By all visible indications: Jagger was Jagger.
Before a sold-out crowd of around 60,000 at the Chicago Bears home stadium, the band's finger-wagging frontman opened with "Street Fighting Man," running from the stage in the end zone area and down a narrow stage jutting into the crowd on what is normally the 30-yard line of the football field.
Did he maybe over-rev the valvetrain with Peruvian Marching Powder ya think? ‘Jus sayin’, as a cohort that generation was pretty hard on the equipment.
“Midnight Rambler... everybody’s got to go...”
Well at my age it can mean something very different than it did, sigh...

1971 at the Marquee Club. I think that’s Southern Comfort Keith is enjoying.
Perhaps, but to be quite truthful, Mick has been a health nut once he got rid of those bad habits. My understanding is that, generally speaking, good habits replace the effects of the bad habits within a decade, and hes been doing the good things longer than that.
No. Cocaine is BAD STUFF. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s a lot of fun, but it causes permanent, irreversible damage to organs, and I’m not talkin’ Hammond B3 here. Amphetamines are worse on society, probably mostly because the general population can’t afford cocaine. That’s the thing with celebrities.
Most heavy drug use is self-limiting in the sense that the user runs out of money, loses his house, family, etc. Not with these guys. Every night is Friday night, they never run out! I bet that’s fun too. Eventually they end up at the Betty Ford clinic (if they are lucky) and then we hear how the latest album “it’s our best yet”, blah blah.
Ill agree with you that cocaine is bad stuff, really, really bad stuff.

Somebody in an earlier Stones thread said, Dave Clark did it right. He retired early and strictly controlled the music so it didnt get played everywhere. Did it right if you want to be completely forgotten. I love Dave, but Id rather have Micks career.
