For FY 2019 New York’s budget is about $175 Billion
For FY 2019 Florida’s Budget is about $90 Billion
So even though they have 1 million few people, the NY State Budget is nearly twice that of Florida.
If you go even further into the Cesspool of New York.
Florida has about 21-22 million people living here.
New York City has about 11 million people.
The 2019 Budget for Florida is about $90 billion
The 2019 Budget for NYC is about $93 billion
So NYC has half the people of the State of Florida but has a larger budget.

Throw in no state income tax in Florida, and it becomes clear Fla is better managed and a better deal living wise, if you can adjust to the heat at time...

Those are some crazy statistics
Not so sure all of that is comparable.
NYC is the largest population center, has the biggest subway and transit system, two very heavy airports and I think the most large suspension bridges. So the infrastructure costs I’m sure are not in line.
But your premise rings true. It’s a poorly run state full of half-wits, commies and welfare scam artists. At the head is probably one of the dumbest governor’s to ever occupy Albany.
